As a star of Twilight, Taylor Lautner turned a lot of heads with his lean body in New Moon. While Taylor already had a nice six pack from his days as a martial artist, he added 20lbs of lean muscle mass. This allowed him to really capture the character of Jacob Black. At 17 years old, Lautner's body was primed to increase in size. He simply had to eat enough good food and lift heavy weights.
Taylor Lautner workout routine used the following to help add mass:
Negative reps: he would focus on the downward motion of lifts to put extra strain on his muscles
Varied sets, reps, and weight: this prevented his body from adapting to his workout routine
Used giant rubber bands to create extra tension: he added these rubber bands to the free weights to force his muscles to work through a full range of motion
Taylor Lautner workout also included ab work: leg raises, reverse crunches, and planks. He also ensured that he got plenty of rest by taking every 3rd day off and never training more than 5 times per week.
